Uncle's Comments: I would have thought Plovdiv would be an obvious candidate.Veliko Turnovo is a town, in European terms, very small and has a truly awful road system in terms of being very ugly.Other than that lovely historic place.Sofia is a hot contender, Varna does not seem to have a cultural strategy, though the Opera House is outstanding.
Update: I was right Plovdiv won tonight.
